Commissioner Square Tables
Typically held on the Third Thursdays of the month.
Watch the District Facebook Page for the next Time and Location or request the next one be close to you.
These are more like "Open Office Hours" to meet in person with District Commissioner Dusty and other Commissioners. Commissioners are like advisors - most have "been there, done that" and might have a fresh take on a challenging situation. They will be able to help clarify a policy or can be a great listening ear for a frustrating interaction and a great friend to celebrate those fractional successes of growth in our scouts. If nothing else, they are a great chance to meet with a friend for snacks!

Participation in Council Fundraisers & Annual Planning for Unit Success
Have you made a plan? Does your unit have a budget? Are you going to grow?
Unfortunately, we are not yet in a Star Trek timeline and money is still a part of our units' existence. It is critical for each unit to have a financial plan. Our District Executive works to check in with each unit annually and help ensure that a plan exists and to support development or modification of the plan as needed over time.
Our council runs two fundraisers each year to support fundraising efforts for units: Camp Cards in the Spring and Popcorn sales in the Fall. These fundraisers also help to support our council as it does the necessary work of holding insurance, keeping our three camp properties in good working order and available to our units, training professionals to improve their knowledge and skills to support units, providing locally available Summer Camp and other programming, and more.
While participation in one or more of the council fundraisers is highly encouraged, we recognize that those particular fundraisers may not be enough or may not work seamlessly with your unit's annual calendar or plan. Units are typically welcome to run their own fundraisers (within guidelines) but are required to submit a Unit Fundraiser Application for each fundraiser they run outside of council's fundraisers each year no less than two weeks before the start of their fundraiser.
Each unit also must recruit at least once annually, twice is better; in the fall and spring. Membership is critical to unit health and success! Hopefully, your unit has a plan in place. If you do not have a plan by the time you schedule a Unit Check-in meeting, we can help you start to craft a plan. More friends equals more fun and more hands to support the fun!
